I have been a political science professor at the Université de Montréal since 2005. I was also an assistant professor at Université Laval from 2004 to 2005. In 2003, I completed a doctorate in public policy at the Institut politique de Bordeaux. I am interested in issues related to local democracy, urban politics and public participation. My research has focused on the effects and the dissemination of public participation practices, municipal elections, metropolitan governance and the mobilization of actors around public transit issues. In 2010, I was awarded the Urban Affairs Association prize for the best paper: “Successful and Unsuccessful Participatory Arrangements: Why is there a Participatory Movement at the Local Level?” (Journal of Urban Affairs). I teach courses on urban politics and public policy analysis.
